Travel Style: DC to West Palm Beach

There is nothing like getting away to somewhere warm and sunny at the height of the Winter season. Being that I live in the District of Columbia, I'm looking at about five solid months of some variation of Winter. We are still below the Mason Dixon line so it's not quite as frigid as places farther North but it does get rather nippy. So when my mom told me that the family was heading South for the Holiday season, I said a speedy goodbye to my tiny apartment and two roommates and headed to one of my favorite places, West Palm Beach, Florida.

Because I had to go to my parent's house first and then drive with them to Florida, my suitcase set up was rather interesting. I had to pack for three different climates and a two week stay. Per usual, I packed too much and ended up wearing some variation of the same thing. Florida allowed for a little more freedom and I was finally able to pull out some of my favorite off the shoulder blouses which are all the rage currently. And by 'all the rage', I mean the most stores have stopped selling normal tops. Although they are trendy now, I find them to be so classic and feminine and they really gave all of my photos the 'vacation vibes' I was looking for.

Our first day in Florida we had an excellent meal at The Breakers Palm Beach followed by a barefoot walk in the sand.  Being there, I felt so thankful for the ability to rest, relax and spend time with my family. Life is changing so quickly and experiences like these, with them, have been few and far between lately. Stay tuned for another travel style post highlighting a beautiful day in Miami.

Keep dreaming,

Jazz
